Commenced study towards MBA (Internet Marketing specialisation).
July 1995 - March 1996 University of Queensland
Full time study towards a Ph.D. Dissertation titled "The feasibility of Neural networks in the identification, classification and categorisation of residues found on ancient stone tool surfaces". Developed a research program and investigated various computing tools and techniques to assist in the research.

Graduate Diploma in Computing Studies.

BA with First Class honours majoring in Archaeology and Physical anthropology. Honours thesis was entitled "Crystal Gazing: the future of haemoglobin crystallisation in archaeology".

WORK EXPERIENCE

March 1999 - Present
Technical Communicator for TOWER Software, a software development company that produces the TRIM knowledge management tools.
Duties include:
  • Redesign of the companies Internet presence http://www.towersoft.com.au/. The presence includes creation of content for three international sites, as well as a business partner support sites, a customer service site and an application developer site (API).
  • Redesign of templates for the provision of TRIM database content over the Web through TOWER Software's proprietary WebDrawer Web server. Written documentation explaining the administration of the WebDrawer server and the creation of WebDrawer HTML templates.
  • Development of Web site update processes. The creation of a Web style guide and templates for Business partner Web sites. The creation of a Web management committee to oversee the process of updating TOWER Software's Internet presence.
November 1998 - March 1999
Technical Writer for "Attache Software" a software development company focused on the production of accounting packages.
Duties included:
  • Business analysis, user characterisation, and the design of the companies Internet presence. Aiding the design and implementation of communications processes across the company. This work included a broad range of tasks including, the implementation of document control measures and training staff in the creation and use of software specifications.
  • Writing user documentation for deployment across multiple platforms. Composing online help using RoboHelp and HDK help authoring packages.
May 1997 - November 1998
Technical Writer for "Lake DSP" a company specialising in research and development in the field of digital audio engineering.
Duties included:
  • The design, maintenance and provision of content for the corporate web site.
  • The design and production of sales documentation and advertising material for insertion into industry magazines and newsletters.
  • Standardisation of in house documentation and the production of an updated user manual for the "Huron and CP4 - digital audio convolution workstations."
  • Aiding in the design of graphical user interfaces for new software products.
  • Software testing, including the production of test plans, test documentation, automated testing suites and the execution of testing and quality assurance.
March 1996 - October 1998
Co-Founder of "E-Scape Beyond Reality" http://www.e-scapebr.com.au an Internet service business, specialising in the provision of quality web authoring and site design.

Casual/Consultant work for Nannabelles using their E-Publish automated markup tool to construct rules based libraries. These rule bases were used to mark up in hypertext, "The Victorian Pay-Roll Legislation", for the State Revenue Office.
August 1996 - November 1996
Part-time tutorial supervisor at the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering Student Resource Centre, University of Canberra. In this position, I helped first year students to gain an understanding of the basics of programming and programming techniques, using the Java programming language.

Tutor at the University of Queensland - Archaeological Sciences. Engaged in tutorial and course development.

Part-Time Laboratory Technician in general laboratory work and the development of several scientific techniques for the extraction of archaeological residues from archaeologically sensitive contexts.
Part-Time Research Assistant in research into biochemical and biomedical techniques for the extraction of DNA from ancient blood residues. Editing and review of several papers.
